Italian floors for the stylish Belgian holiday home overlooking the North Sea

There are just 29 steps separating the front door from the sand dunes of the nearby beach of Sint-André.

They are the steps of the comfortable WOWie&Germain holiday home at Oostduinkerke, 400 m from Nieuwpoort beach. This was once a busy tearoom, conveniently located for the shops. The interiors were renovated using the Faetano brand’s Frammenti collection of porcelain stoneware floors and wall tiles, which evoke classical granulated marble tiles. The range responds to two very current themes: Venetian terrazzo flooring and dusty colours. All combined with a “hand-made” look.

The inspiration, reinterpreted in contemporary style, derives from the old Venetian tradition of using fragments of marble, brick and glass to create the terrazzo effect, with an infinite variety of shapes and colours, which Del Conca re-creates in dusty shades of white, black, terracotta and bright blue. A new long, narrow porcelain stoneware size (7.5x40 cm) features in the bathroom in combination with the Frammenti 20x20 cm plain tiles and decors.
