The “Sew A Seed” project by Carità Senza Confini Onlus is an initiative that aims to transform the lives of single women, people with disabilities, and other disadvantaged members of the community in Lusaka, Zambia, through professional training in sewing.
Located near the San Marino Bakery, this non-profit workshop/school was designed to promote self-sufficiency and empowerment by providing practical skills and essential resources, such as sewing machines and materials generously donated by the San Marino community. The Del Conca Group supplied porcelain stoneware floor and wall tiles.
The project is inspired by the success story of Wisdom, a street boy who started his own business after receiving a sewing machine. In addition to the sewing workshop, the site also hosts volunteers who support various Carità Senza Confini initiatives, including the management of the bakery and active agricultural projects. This initiative offers a model of sustainable development that encourages economic independence and improved living conditions for local communities.
